SOWEC today responded to the Draft Scottish Budget, welcoming new funding proposed for supply chain and infrastructure projects needed to support offshore wind growth in Scotland.
Brian McFarlane, Industry Co-Chair of SOWEC commented:
"The announcement of £67m in the Scottish budget will be a big boost to offshore wind supply chain growth in Scotland. Attracting private investment to build new infrastructure and manufacturing facilities in Scotland is vital if we are to grow our supply chain ready to build out offshore wind in Scotland.
“ScotWind alone is a £27bn supply chain opportunity for Scotland, so this budget commitment is a smart way to unlock significant future economic value for companies and workers.”
